Today I wanted to write a small post about the Silisponge I purchased from mollycosmeticsshop.com. I first saw this product on Facebook, before it exploded all over the internet. I liked the idea of using a sponge that applied product to my face not sucked it all up. It is definitely a good idea in theory. I am yet to love the sponge however, it is quite hard to use and I always achieve a less than perfect result. Perhaps more practice is needed.
According to Molly Cosmetics, the waste of products is now history as the Silisponge does not soak up a thing. They also state that half the product usually used when applying to the face is needed wen applying with a Silisponge. Plus it is easy to clean, rub on some soap and rinsing with luke warm water. Which all sounds like good reasons to switch to using a Silisponge over using a beauty blender, sponge or brush.
According to Molly Cosmetics, use of the silisonge is as follows;
- Take the littlest amount of cream/liquid product and go in circular motions or back and forth to spread, until it stop spreading further.
- Tap repeatedly to blend and settle, pay attention to edges (jawlines, hairlines, around the eyes. Hold the sides and fold to create a "point" for detail and point applications.
- Repeat and build coverage as needed.'
