      MAC Soft & Gentle

      Hey,

Today I want to talk about the MAC Soft and Gentle mineralise Skinfinish I received for Christmas, sorry it has taken me so long to get on the MAC bandwagon. I am now the proud owner of two of their foundations, Fix plus and Soft and gentle. MAc is working its way into my heart.

I have some amazing friends that I have made since starting my new job. One of them purchased this for me as a Christmas gift, as she knew I was interested in purchasing it. I had noticed she had some blinding highlight on her while at work and wanted to know her secret, turns out it is MAC Soft and Gentle.

This product is full of shimmer and has a pink tone to it which is enhance when applied with the addition of Fix plus. The product itself is buildable and can be applied at different levels of coverage and shimmer etc. This product is versatile and as part of MAC's mineralise skinfinish products it can be used in different ways. As a highlighter  to the tops of the cheeks, an eye shadow, spot highlight or as an overall dusting to the face. Just depends on how sparkly you would like your face at the time.

      Do you MAC?

      Whats your favourite product?

      MECCA - Beauty Loop

      Hey,

Today I wanted to do a post about the Mecca Beauty Loop box I picked up on Wednesday. Over Christmas, between purchasing gifts for loved ones and loved ones purchasing gifts for me I spent quite a bit, I am now a Beauty Loop Level 2.. won't be long till I reach Level 3.

      In my Level 2 beauty loop box I received;

      1. Nars - Liquid Laguna Bronzer
      2. Josie Maran Cosmetics - Whipped Mud Mask
      3. Korres - Wild rose face and eye cream
      4. By Terry - Liftessence eye contour

I am quite excited to give each of these samples a try, especially the liquid Laguna bronzer by Nars since I purchased the powder just after Christmas.

Do you shop at Mecca? What brands do you love?

Did you get a Beauty Loop Box? What did you receive?

      The Silisponge

      Hey,

Today I wanted to write a small post about the Silisponge I purchased from mollycosmeticsshop.com. I first saw this product on Facebook, before it exploded all over the internet. I liked the idea of using a sponge that applied product to my face not sucked it all up. It is definitely a good idea in theory. I am yet to love the sponge however, it is quite hard to use and I always achieve a less than perfect result. Perhaps more practice is needed.

According to Molly Cosmetics, the waste of products is now history as the Silisponge does not soak up a thing. They also state that half the product usually used when applying to the face is needed wen applying with a Silisponge. Plus it is easy to clean, rub on some soap and rinsing with luke warm water. Which all sounds like good reasons to switch to using a Silisponge over using a beauty blender, sponge or brush.

      According to Molly Cosmetics, use of the silisonge is as follows;

      MORPHE x KATHLEENLIGHTS collab

      Hey,

Today I wanted to talk about my Morphe x Kathleenlights collaboration palette that I purchased from Morphe.com. I am a huge fan of all things Kathleen lights and was quite devastated when the palette sold out online the first time around and I didn't get the chance to purchase it. The minute it restocked I purchased the palette and sat patiently by the door for the delivery man.

The palette costs $14.99 USD and can still be purchased from the Morphebrushes.com.  The palette includes 15  pigemented matte and shimmer shadows in various colours. The palette itself is not overly glamorous, as it is made of cardboard not made of plastic like other morphe palettes I own. It is also much smaller than I first thought, clearly use the the large sizes of their other palettes. The shadows themselves are pigmented and blend together very well. I love Kathleens colour choices, including the out of place green. While I haven't had the chance to try all the shadows what I have so far have been great quality.

I'm really glad I go a hold of this palette, this is not a purchase I regret.

Have you purchased this limited edition palette?

What did you think of it?

'The Bronze Palette' - Real versus Fake

      Hey,

Today I wanted to write a comparison post where I compare the differences between the real and fake Kylie Cosmetics 'The Bronze Palette'. It wasn't until recently that I was suckered into the Kylie Cosmetic hype, and it was only because Christmas was approaching and Mum wanted to purchase some 'real' make up for me. I was previously a die hard fake palette fan - never had any issues with them skin wise. Recently though with y two jobs I am better able to support my addiction and have been replacing my fake palettes with the real versions. One of which is 'The Bronze Palette' by Kylie Jenner.

Photo of both palettes (Left: Fake, Right: Real)

Photo of both palettes (Left: Fake, Right: Real)

      The Fake Palette

I purchased this palette off of eBay in August and it arrived roughly a month or so later on my doorstep all safe and unsmashed. Without comparing it to the real version, I was very impressed with the palette.   The three main differences I noticed were the size, colours of the stickers on the back, colours of the graphics in the front and shade names.

      The Real Palette

This palette was purchased from the Kylie Cosmetics website for me for Christmas (2016) and arrived  unscathed in time for it to be wrapped and left under the tree. This palette was impressive in terms of front graphics but otherwise seemed quite small. Once I recieved this I was able to compare my 'fake' to my 'real' and it was obvious that there were differences, namely in size, colours of stickers on the back, colours of the graphics in the front and shade names.

      Comparison of the two palettes

When I received the real palette there were obvious differences between the two, the first very noticeable difference being that the original is roughly half a centimeter smaller in both height and width. Both palettes dimensions are therefore in proportion to their own size and neither when separated look out of whack.

The second difference that was blatantly obvious is that the fake palette has a gold sticker on the back  while the real has a silver. Plus the real palette has a authentication code, while the fake does not. This is when the detail of the sticker becomes obvious(pictured below) ; the shade names are backwards when arranged on the palette. The real palette details from left to right, top row to bottom; Jasper, Quartz, Topaz, Goldstone, Citrine, Tiger eye, Hematite, Bronzite and obsidian. Where as the fake details from left to right, top row to bottom tow; Obsidian, Bronzite, Hermatite, Tiger eye, Citrine, Dolostone, Topaz, Quartz and Jasper.

From here I noticed that the fake palette has mispelled 'Goldstone' and says 'Dolostone'.

Photo of the back of the 'fake' palette (above)

The next obvious difference is the front of both palettes. They both have graphics on the front of Kylies eyes with shadow dripping in place of bottom lashes. The real palette is vibrant with orange, brown and black shadow dripping from the eye graphics while the fake looks bleached of life with gold, brown and silver dripping from the eye graphics.

Photo of the front of the 'fake palette' (above)

Both palettes are reasonably pigmented the colours very similar and neither standing out against the other. Both palettes shadows blend out well but can be quite chalky.

      Week or so Hiatus!

      Hey,

First of all I would like to apologise for not posting for the last week, I have missed three posts. Two of which were meant to be good ones; a post detailing the differences between a real and a fake Kylie eyeshadow palette and a review of MAC's Soft and Gentle Highligher. These will be posted in the next few days - which I will most likely back post so keep your eyes out!

I've been majorly busy with work and family, barely had the time to sleep. This is happening more and more lately which has interferred with my dedication to my blog. I need to spend a day where I can catch up and just photograph and type. Hopefully this will happen soon.

This little hitch has in no way deterred me from reviewing and trying new items, I will be back!

      Zoeva Plaisir Box!

      Hey,

Today I wanted to show off what I received from my brother for Christmas. I had been eyeing this Zoeva Plaisir off on BeautyBay but when I went to purchase it was out of stock so the minute it was back in stock my brother bought it for me.

Below I have a photo of the box, it comes with a cardboard protective sleeve, almost like a hard cover book comes with a plastic sleeve.

Inside the box contained three seperate palettes pictured below.
Below is a photo of the caramel coloured palette titled 'Caramel Melange', below that is the swatches of the palette.
Below is a photo of the dark coloured palette titled 'Cocoa Blend', below that is the swatches of the palette.
Below is a photo of the white palette titled 'Blanc Fusion', below that is the swatches of the palette.

All three palettes have ten shades of incredibly pigmented product, which isn't necessarily translated through my swatches. Each palette contain a mix of matte, satin, metallic, Duo Chrome, Pearl and Matte with Glitter shades.

Zoeva describes 'the ZOEVA Plaisir Box merges the full pleasure and varieties of chocolate, transferred into cosmetics'.

According to the Zoeva website the palettes are 100% free of parabens, mineral oils, perfume and phthalates and are made in Italy.

JEFFREE STAR! Skin Frost in Ice Cold!

      Hey,

Today I wanted to talk about my Jeffree Star Skin Frost in the shade Ice Cold. This purchase was part of my second Jeffree Star order from his website jeffreestarcosmetics.com, as it was not in stock when I made my first order. I purchased both the Ice cold and Peach Goddess skin frosts and love them both to pieces.

Ice cold is Jeffree's white highlighter which when applied is a pure white pigmented shimmer on the cheeks with no flecks of any other colour. The highlighter is in typical Jeffree Star pink packaging with both a mirror and his trademark star stamped into the product (pictured below). Size wise I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the pan (bigger than my palm), as I had not previously purchased any skin frosts before hand. The product included 15g, which will last a lifetime.

Normally I mix both Ice cold and Peach goddess together on the tops of my cheeks, which enhances both but when just using Ice cold I spray Mac Fix plus on my brush which essentially makes the highlight blinding on the cheeks.

I would recommend purchasing this skin frost if you're looking for a white highlighter. While lighter skin tones are more likely to purchase, if you have a darker skin tone do not let its whiteness put you off, it is gorgeous when used on any skin tone.

Do you own any Jeffree Star cosmetics? What do you think?

Sportsgirl On The Glow Sunkissed Palette

      Hey,

Today I wanted to talk about a makeup item I purchased from Sportsgirl, a store I had previously never even walked into. I had seen on the different make up groups I follow on Facebook people going crazy for the different products Sportsgirl has, especially there highlighting palettes. I took my best friend in and we were both astounded at the quality of the different products, the pigmentation alone was a selling point for me. Some high end products don't produce products with as much pigmentation.

We spent quite a long while in the store and I am pretty sure I swatched every product in there before deciding on buying the Sunkissed palette. The sunkissed, which I assume is for tanner skin tones had the most impressive pigmentation and glow. I decided that even though I am pasty white that this seemed the most logical in terms of quality to purchase. My friend convinced me to purchase the lip scrub, something I wasn't necessarily keen on purchased but figured I would give a go. There were two flavours but the Watermelon which I ended up taking had the more pleasant smell.

These products are quality without breaking the budget. If you haven't checkout out their make up I would suggest going and having a look. It is not just makeup but they have a range of skin care beauty items as well.
