October Favoutites

Hey,

Today I wanted to talk about my favourite beauty items from the month of October. I managed to pick out nine beauty products that I have been either using the absolute bajesus out of or have found a huge appreciation for in the month of October.

Esree Lauder Double Wear in the shade Fresco

During September I went into Myer with my best friend and got matched for the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. Not knowing if I was going to love or hate it the lady ended up giving me a generous sample of it to try at home. I have used the sample from Myer three times so far and from the looks of it I have a few more tries before I even finish the sample. This in itself is impressive, while it was a generous sample even generous samples don't generally last more than a couple at the most of applications. So far I enjoy that a little stretches a hell of a long way as well as the durability of the foundation.

The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops in Lightening

I purchased these lightening drops because I have a few foundations that are a couple of shades too dark for my skin and I didn't want to waste the money I had spent on them. I have been using these lightening drops for the last couple of weeks and have been quite impressed with how they lighten foundations even as little as one shade.

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin in 02 Light

I bought this concealer to compare it to the W7 skin fresh concealer as they have similar packaging which made me question whether W7 tried to create a replica. This concealer by Maybelline is a very easy to blend yet completely full coverage concealer. It covers redness, freckles and dark under eyes.

Designer Brands Contour Kit

I received this palette in a show bag from the Royal Melbourne Show that my Aunty purchased for me. I have been using the middle contour colour to chisel out my cheeks and nose before using the Ulta3 Stobing kit bronzer to not only bronze the skin but blend and soften the contour.

Ulta3 Strobing Kit

The bottom row, middle bronzer is amazing. This palette has been in my favourites list two months running and it will soon be time to repurchase the palette. I am hoping that Ulta3 have a bronzer on its own.

e.l.f Complexion Brush

I bought this brush after a everyone on the Facebook Make up groups I follow went nuts about it. They were not wrong at all, this brush is my all time favourite. It is the perfect brush for blending out a bronzer on the cheeks and forehead. I literally cry when it is wet from cleaning it because I don't use any other brush.

RCMA No-Color Powder

I purchased this powder from Makeupnet and had it sitting in my drawer for a couple of weeks before giving it a go. It is very finely milled and doesn't leave the foundation looking cakey. I have since been using this powder daily and quite enjoy its effect on my makeup.  It has absolutely no colour but the packaging is a pain in the ass.

bhCosmetics Shaaanxo 9 Color Eyeshadow Palette

I purchased this palette off the bhCosmetics website and have been steadily using it ever since. It has a couple of base colours that I use daily, one is a cream colour and the other a light orange. Then I generally use one of the golden brown shimmer colours on my eyelids.

MakeupGeek x KathleenLights Highligher Palette

This was a purchase from September and I haven't used anything else since its arrival. I am a mad KathleenLights fan, love her YouTube channel as well as her collaborations with MakeupGeek and Colourpop. Cannot wait to order her Morphe Palette, that will have to wait though. When I first received this palette I wasn't overly impressed with the swatches, but once applied to my face it is amazing. The purple shaded highlight is my favourite, it is so glowy and sparkly.

Review - eBay Kylie Lipkit Dolce K

Hey,

Today I wanted to review the Kylie Lipkit in Dolce K I purchased from eBay. I have now had this Liquid Lip replica in my collection for a couple of months and really enjoy wearing it when I want a lighter brown lip colour.

Unlike the True Brown K Kylie Lipkit I purchased where the lip liner was a completely different shade of brown to the liquid lipstick, Dolce K is more of a realistic match. The Liquid lipstick itself is highly pigmented that dries completely matte very quickly. There is no sticky or tacky feeling on the lips after it dries. The only issue is that the liquid component can be quite drying on the lips. It is also long wearing provided oily food is not consumed. There is no transfer when wearing this lipkit.

W7 Skin Fresh Concealer vs Maybelline Superstay Better Skin concealer

Hey,

Today I wanted to review and compare both the W7 Skin Fresh Concealer I have in the shade Fair and the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin concealer in 02 Light.

W7 Skin Fresh Concealer in Fair:

Swatch of the W7 Skin Fresh Concealer:

Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer in 02 Light:

Comparison:

In terms of price, the W7 concealer is the least expensive at $4.99 for 12ml where as the Maybelline concealer is $14.95 for 11ml of product. There is also a difference in the colours, both are the lightest shade in their range but the Maybelline is distinctly darker than the W7 when both are applied side by side. Neither have an orange tone when applied to the skin, more of a neutral to beige tone.

Both concealers are easy to blend out, the w7 has a thinner formula that blends out quite sheerly where are the Maybelline is thicker with more coverage which is noticeable when trying to cover dark under eyes. Both have the same style pakaging so this makes both products easier to apply, which mades me think the W7 is a take off of the Maybelline concealer.

Both are great products, neither were a disappointing purchase.

Review- eBay Kylie Lipkit in True Brown K

Hey,

Today I want to review the Kylie Lip Kit in True Brown K I purchased from eBay. I have now had this Liquid Lip replica in my collection for a couple of months and really enjoy wearing it when I want to do a darker sultrier look.

Like pictured below the lip liner is quite a lighter and more red toned brown than the matte lip that goes over the top. This however does not impact on the performance of the matte liquid lip, which on its own or over the top of the liner is quite dark. The lip liner is quite creamy and easy to apply where as the liquid lip is quite patchy and requires multiple layers to even out the colour. It is also a very quick drying formula so accuracy is needed when applying to the lips. The formula dries completely matte and can be drying on the lips if predisposed to dryness. There is no transfer when wearing this lipkit.

Swatches of the Kylie Lip Kit (Top: Liner, Bottom: Liquid Lipstick):

Wearing the Kylie Lip Kit:

For the price off of eBay I am very impressed with the performance of the Kylie lipkit. If you are in the circumstance like myself where you are unable to purchase a real Kylie Lipkit, eBay versions are worth the money.

JEFFREE STAR.. My first purchase!

Hey,

Today I wanted to go through and review my first Jeffree Star purchase. I did my purchase during the end of summer sale on the 3rd of September as the Beauty Killer Palette was 20% off. I am a really huge fan of Jeffree Star on Youtube and have been working myself up to making a purchase. I decided to do a relatively small purchase as I knew that even though the palette was on sale that the exchange rate would get me.

Beauty Killer Palette $36.00 USD

Androgyny Velour Liquid Lipstick $18.00 USD

Overall the order was $64.95 USD = $89.14 AUD

Card that arrived in the box.. with the lovely JS tissue paper!

Everything in the parcel:

Back of the box and palette:

Inside the Beauty Killer Palette:

Swatches of the Beauty Killer Palette (excuse the crappy photo/ was an odd angle). Top to Bottom (Black Rainbow, China White, Vanity, Confession, Expensive, Courtney, Rich Bitch, Violence, Princess and Star Power).

The Palette itself at first glance is quite scary for someone who wears nudes majority of the time, but after a little experimentation it is easy to work in the colours. I especially love using Violence (the dark purple) underneath my lash line. All of the shadows are quite pigmented, but surprisingly I find Star power to be the least pigmented.

Androgyny:

Wearing Androgyny:

Androgyny is a purple shade and is very complimentary for my skin tone. The formula is very wearable. The doe foot applicator alongside the formula work together for a effortless glide onto the lips. The lipstick has a good drying time, it doesn't dry too quick that you cannot work with it but it doesn't take too long that you have to wait forever. It is not sticky or tacky, nor does it transfer once in drys down. Best of all it isn't a drying liquid lipstick.

Already I have made my second Jeffree Star purchase... I love his make up!

Review - Australis Pout Paste

Hey,

Today I want to review the Australis Pout Paste Intense Lip Colour in Stripped Nude. I purchased this from Priceline for $4. Admittedly it was a bit of an impulse buy as apart from testing it the day I purchased I have not worn it since.

Overall I felt the Poute Paste to be:

In colour... a pale peachy nude
Formula.. thick and sticky
Finish.. High shine
Aplicator.. doe foot and easy to apply
Smell.. quite sweet

Directions:

Apply a thin layer for a lipstick-like shine or more layers for a full on glossy pout.

Have you tried any of the Australis Pout Pastes?

Updated: Morning Routine

Hey,

Today I wanted to update everyone on my morning skin care regime. This has changed quite a lot since I last posted about my skin care routine. My first skincare post was titled 'Before Primer Routine' and even during this post and straight after I was transitioning between different products.  My post directly after that was on a 'New Face Wash', which I have since stopped using. What essentially has not changed though is the order of products that I apply to my skin. I still; cleanse, tone and moisturise.

If you regularly follow my blog, you will now that I have an issue when it comes to purchasing new products that I don't necessarily need. I have been attempting to, especially in regards to skin care products.. only purchase items as I need them. By this I mean once I know I have only a couple more days left in a product I go and either repurchase or select a whole new product to test out.

For the last month and the month yet to occur, I am working at transitioning from using majority Arbonne skin care products to 'drug store' versions. My reasoning is that I didn't see enough of an improvement, and in some cases any improvement at all to justify the huge price tag that the Arbonne products carry.

Currently I am using;

Cleanse:

Grace Cole Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Foaming Facial Wash

Tone:

T.N. Dickinson's All Natural Witch hazel

Moisturiser:

Face moisturiser: Simple Kind to Skin replenishing Rich Moisturiser

Eye cream: Beauty Essentials Bright Eye Cream

What products do you use in your morning routine?
