New Face wash!

Hi,

So I wanted to talk about another Priceline purchase... from a while ago.

This product I am quite impressed with, and I have only used it twice.  There was a sale at Priceline, while I was going through an obsession with Charcoal products for the face. I purchased Biore's Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser.  I just last week gave it a go for the first time, and was amazed.  I have used other Biore products before, such as their nose strips, but have not before tried their facial cleansing line. My first impression - I am quite amazed. It lathers quite well and tingles on the face - not in a bad way either. Once washed off the skin on my face feels clean and fresh.

If you like Charcoal products or even Biore products, give this a go... certainly worth it!

Before Primer Routine.

Hi,

I wanted to share a detailed account of the skin care routine I was up to a couple of days ago, applying to my face which I have now been using for the last couple of weeks. I will also walk though my feelings on the different products, and whether or not they will stay as part of my permanent routine. As well as the products I was using prior to these.

Each morning before I apply my primer I try to keep to the same skin routine.

1. Wash

Normally I start the day by washing my face with a face washer (small towel) which I have run under hot water. Mostly I do this to freshen my skin without having to use a face wash. I am a creature of habit (a certain school camping experience the cause of that!) and shower every night before bed without fail during which I use a face wash and other items that I don't always have time to use in the morning. Sleep is essential to keeping my face from breaking out. If I do shower in the morning then I use the same Olay face wash pictured below.

2. Tone

Loreal Paris Revitalift Rejuvinating Toner

This toner I picked up at a Cosmetic Sale in Sunshine just before new years. This toner is different to the one I use before moisturizing at night. I use it during the day as I feel it leaves my face looking brighter and refreshed, and it is lighter than the one used at night. I had previously been using the same toner morning and night which was the T.N. Dickinson's All Natural Witch Hazel toner (image below). The only reason I stopped using this one was I realised I had picked up a few others on sale and wanted to give them a go before going back to something I trusted. For a day time skin care routine I feel that the Loreal Paris toner leaves my complexion looking brighter, so it may become a permanent fixture - well depending on the price once I run out.

Earlier in the week after a Youtube binge of beauty channels and videos about homemade toners, I decided to make my own and give it a try. I still use the one detailed about - but I keep that to my under eye area as I find it works to give my under eye area a brighter appearance. I've been working at controlling some series neck break outs so I figured a good homemade non-chemically infused toner may help.

It is basically just a mix of green tea, apple cider vinegar and drops of tea tree oil. This, I mix together and store in the fridge in a small spray bottle. I spritz it all over my face, paying the most attention to the acne prone areas. I let it soak in then move onto the next step - moisturize.

3. Moisturize

The moisturizer pictured is one I picked up discounted at Priceline, not too long ago that I have started using during the day. I find that a little goes a long way with this moisturizer, two small pumps thoroughly covers my face and neck. This comes in a pump action bottle which is convenient for portions and it leaves my skin feeling satiny and soft.

Previous to trying out this moisturiser I used Nivea Soft which I found was less greasy than the normal Nivea but was also less moisturizing. I honestly found that it wasn't suited to my skin even though the normal Nivea is what keeps my mums skin amazing.

There you go, my skin care routine before I apply a primer to my face.
Let me know what products you use on your skin!

New Purse!

Hi,

So a couple of weekends ago my mum got the bug that she needed a new purse!

Shes been using the same crocodile skin red purse for as long as I can remember - so it was about time. I figured why not have a look myself.. so I drove her up to the local shopping centre.  After searching K-mart, Collette and finally Strandbags we both found purses we liked. Strandbags were luckily having a 25% off sale so it was great timing.
Like my handbags, I like a new purse every now and again. Maybe a little sooner than every now and then.

It has quite a neutral colour scheme, so it will work with just about all my handbags and outfits. It is also made out of the softest material and I just want to touch it all the time, even go as far as saying rub my cheek on it.

Here are a few shots of my new purse.

Thanks for checking out my new purse.. won't be to everyone's taste but I think its purrtty!

Whats in the bag, in the bag, whats in the bag today?

Whats in the bag, in the bag, whats in the bag today?

Hi, I have been a little slack lately with my handbag, I have either been using a tote or just carrying my phone and purse around sans bag. After being away for a week with my parents in Mildura, I decided to pull out a different handbag from my suitcase full under my bed.
I'm a little obsessive with bags - I own far too many. By this I mean I have two huge plastic containers in the roof plus a suitcase full under my bed... and there maybe more that I can't remember and this point.

First of all the handbag I pulled out and am currently using is a H&M handbag, which I bought on sale for $20 approximately a year ago.

Handbag includes;

1. Jag Purse

This is a standard item in a females handbag - I bought this one on sale from Myers for $40 just under a year ago. It was a case of looking at it, picking it up, putting it down and then going back to it multiple times. In the end it was honestly a matter of cost as I like to skimp and save as much as I can.. but I also didn't want to regret not taking it with me. So I opted for the larger purchase and have used it ever since. Money well spent.

2. Red sunglasses

These are cheap $2 shop sunny's I bought in a small town on the way home from Mildura, they only cost me $6.99 - brilliant! To buy an expensive pair, anything over $10 would be a complete waste. I'm clumsy and if they don't end up falling off my head and down a set of stairs then I'll either sit on them or put a pile of books on top of them. All very reasonable things to occur, these are just a few ways I have destroyed a pair of sunny's. Anyways, they are definitely a staple for an Australian, if its not the sun burning your retinas its the glare of the clouds.

3. Cheap headphones

Lets be honest, there is a definite love hate relationship between myself and technology. I put it down to my clumsy-ness... for some reason no matter what I do things break once they have spent more than five minutes in my presence so like the sunny's a cheap pair of $2 headphones are safer.

4.Hand mirror

Everyone in my family is always looking for something reflective, to check their make-up, teeth, hair etc. This hand mirror was something my grandmother found on eBay and voila!! It is now a permanent fixture in my bad, plus it's pretty.

5. Range of lip glosses and lipsticks

These include the following:
Innoxa Antioxidant Lip Glaze
Maybelline Super Stay 24 Colour in shade Won't move mauve
Mecca Cosmetica lip gloss
Burt's bees moisturizing lip balm in acai berry
ColourPop in Tootsi matte
Lily lovers lip shimmer
Coconut Revolution Coconut Lip Gloss in Blueberry

I will definitely be reviewing and posting about the Coconut Revolution Lip Gloss, ColourPop matte and Maybelline Super Stay 24 Colour in the near future so look out for the posts if you're interested in my thoughts on these products.

6. House and car keys

Staples if I want to have access to the house and my car. With my shop-a-holic tenancies it is quite convenient being able to just come and go as I please. I've only had my license for the last eight months and it has definitely given me a little independence.

7. Cetirine Hayfever & Allergy Relief tablets, Panamax tablets, Hydrozole cream, Listerine oral care strips.

Fresh breath - need I say more.
Panamax for that womanly time of the month or the occasionally headache from staring at a screen too long.
Hayfever tablets and Hydrozole cream for the stubborn dermatitis on my hands and feet which flares up all the time - I'm allergic to everything I touch!

 8. 2 yellow highlighters, 3 Black ink pens.

Apparently you can never have too many pens. Being a student and jobseeker you never know when your going to need to write something down or have five minutes to complete a reading.

So that is the contents of my bag this week, there is a reason I like to own a large handbag - to carry all this stuff around with me!

Thanks,
Danny xx

Ballarat Begonia Festival.

Hi,
Over the Labour Day long weekend, I attended the Ballarat Begonia Festival that was held in the Ballarat Botanical gardens from the 12-14th of March. I went alongside majority of my family on the Monday. Luckily enough, this was the day they held the parade where different groups, organisations and schools dressed up to flaunt their thing. We arrived just in time to view this and it was quite a sight. Quite an impressive display!
Image from the official Ballarat Begonia Festival Website http://www.ballaratbegoniafestival.com/

After the Parade the festivities began in the Botanical Gardens where market stalls, Food, a Lego trail and much more took place. One attraction that I couldn't pass up was the Be Smart Choose Tap - Water stall was held. It was quite a warm afternoon- I did in fact get quite burnt, but I saw all these people walking around with these nifty infused water bottles. So, I had to have one. The price was right.. only $5 and they placed a couple of pieces of fruit and there were free refills all day. Beauty. Mine is pictured below, I have since changed out the fruit and even added some ice.

I spent majority of the day with my little cousin, where we completed the Lego Treasure Trail. There we had to use a set of questions and a map to find different animals made out of Lego. Such as the curious Kitten, goofy Galah, blue tongue Lizard, creepy Croc, terrible Toad, friendly Fruit Bat, Silly Seagull and beautiful Butterfly.
Following this we squeezed into a kiddy activity where we made hanging bags and put succulent plants in to grow.

Who can walk out of  a market without having spent money? Certainly not me and the stalls at the festival did not disappoint. While I didn't bring home as much as I normally would from a market the quality of the items I bought home made all the difference.

Coconut Revolution Coconut Lip Gloss (Blueberry)

Your Inspiration at Home Dip Mix (Beetroot)

I look forward to finding new fruit combinations for my fruit infuser bottle, using the lip gloss and making the dip.. stay tuned as I will review and report back with my findings and recipes.

Thanks,
Danny xx
