Review - Chi Chi Eye Shadow Palette's - Mochas and Bases

I wanted to show off my Chi Chi eye-shadow palette collection. So far I own two. 

The first I about a month ago now - even though I have a ridiculous amount of eye-shadow palettes already.  Finding the Mochas palette stocked at Target was quite painful to say the least. There were sales at Target on NYX and Chi Chi products, so I figured it would be a good time to try out a couple of their products. For the Chi Chi eye shadow palette in Mochas I only ended up paying $15 with a Target team discount.

I originally went to buy the naturals and bronzes but changed my mind after getting my hands on all the testers and seeing the colour's in person.  I had a mind blank and forgot how intense the brown shadows are. Lets just say there was plenty of damage control. The browns are highly pigmented. This can make for an intense application if you load too much onto your brush.


The medium and dark shades are very pigmented where as a couple of the lighter shades are a little less.

The Bases palette I bought from a girl off a buy sway and sell group on Facebook for $9. It had been used a couple of times but after I sterilized it, all was well.

I do not at all regret purchasing the Bases palette, it is such a handy palette. It provides multiple functions in my make-up bag. It is great for a neutral, subtle eye-shadow look or for a splash of a neutral colour like white to brighten the inner corners of the eyes. It is also fantastic when you need to fix an eye-shadow error, the pigmentation, the boldness of the colours applies easily over the top of other shadows.

Beauty storage! How I store my make-up.

So in the last couple of weeks I grew tired of how I was storing my make-up. I was finding it hard to get full use out of all my products as I had to store things that wouldn't fit in the couple of plastic trays I had in the top of a bathroom trolley I was using.

While searching for Confirmation cards in the reject shop with my mum I came across stackable drawers that were not overpriced. They were an item I had been looking at where ever I went but could not justify majority of the prices. I came home with a drawer set that had five drawers.

After realising that the drawers wouldn't fit in the trolley my grandmother suggested buying another set with five drawers and stacking them in the gap between the sink and shower. So I did, then I went back again and bought a set that had three drawers. After this I was content.

Overall it only ended up costing me $30 and I am quite satisfied as I now have enough room to separate my make up. I have taken photos below of the labels I added and the drawers contents.

First Sephora Purchase!

Hey,

I just wanted to update about my first purchase from Sephora! I made it on the 1st of June online, unfortunately didn't spend heaps, but just enough to get free shipping. :D

I decided when I received money for my birthday that instead of spending it on crap that I would buy some genuine palettes, I wanted a contour palette and an eyeshadow palette. I originally wanted the PB+J palette by Too Faced and their Cocoa contour kit. 

Instead I found a Chi Chi Contour kit at Myer and went on Sephora online and decided on the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette. I was able to take the Chi Chi palette home straight away, it was in stock as people had not ransacked the shelves during the sale as of yet. 

The Kat Von D though is a waiting game! Sephora says anywhere between 5-10 days.. I will keep everyone posted.

Chi Chi Highlighting and Contouring Palette

Hey,
So I received a little bit of money for my birthday and wanted to buy a couple of palettes. While scrolling through Facebook I came across a post saying 'Aussies will be at Myer this week with  a screen shot from chichicosmeticsofficial on Instagram showing there new Highlighting and Contouring Palette. I had to have it of course. So Monday Afternoon I went to Myer and was expecting to pick the palette up for $25, which I thought was a bargain for what it was.

I rock up to Myer and they are putting out all there sale signs for there end of financial year or mid year sales, whichever. I ended up getting the palette for 25% off! Fantastic ended up being just under $19. Which obviously left plenty of money for other items.

After using it for a couple of weeks I'll update my thoughts on the palette

Garnier Micellar Water Vs Byphasse Micellar Solution

Hey,

So heres the deal, I have been using Micellar water from different brands for the last 6-12 months. My brothers girlfriend recommended the Garnier Micellar Water it to me and from there I have tried a couple of different brands versions. These include Swisse, Garnier and Byphasse Micellar waters. I have used more of the Garnier Micellar cleansing water with the pink lid, as it seemed good value for price. This is until  came across the Byphasse Micellar Solution. 

Here's why I believe the Byphasse brand is better value;

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

- Leaves skin oily

- 400ml in a bottle

- Permanent price $12.99

- Can be expensive even when on on sale at $6.50

- Can irritate eyes

Byphasse Micellar Solution

- Contains 500ml of solution

- Doesn't leave skin oily

- Permanent price is $4.99

- Doesn't irritate the eyes

Pretty convincing argument for the Byphasse Solution if you ask me!

In the last couple of weeks, for different reasons at at different places I have bought some more make up items and wanted to show ya'll. 

The first is that I went shopping at Target at my local plaza where Chi Chi cosmetics and NYX cosmetics were on sale again. So I ended up buying a couple of things. In the grand scheme of things, I kept it to a minimum but I have promised myself that when Chi Chi is next on sale I will be purchasing more of their cosmetic brushes. The fourth is the Essence bronze eye shadow palette from the High Point Priceline. I recieved my quarter money back slip which turned out to be less that $4 so I figured a buy from essence would work.

I gave this palette a go for the first time on the day of my graduation, and I agree with everyone who says this is a good beginners palette. This is also a good palette if you want to add sparkle to your eye look. The colours are easy to blend, have a reasonable amount of pigmentation but can be built up.

The fifth is from Chemist Warehouse who is currently having a half off all cosmetics sale. So of course even though I had spent all my money, I had to check it out. Plus I had recently come across the Byphasse brand so bought two skin care items.

Jojoba Youth Potion

Hey,

So I bought another item through a Facebook Bye Swap and Sell group. The girl who owned it was from Werribee and it only ending up costing me $10, not bad considering if you purchase it online it retails at $39.99. The item, pictured above is the Jojoba Company's 100% natural ultimate jojoba youth potion.

I have recently been viewing a lot of Youtube videos and watching guys and gals apply a couple of drops to their foundation or even just their face. I wanted to find out what all the fuss was about. Through eBay I ordered a small bottle of Jojoba oil that I now add a couple of drops to my foundation and mix before I apply to my face.

I then came across a girl selling the youth potion and figured this would be a good addition to my skin care routine as it is coming into winter. This for me means dry patches, and general dehydrated looking skin and therefore sloppy looking make up.

The bottle is quite pretty and luckily has the directions printed on as the girl didn't seem to have the box.

The directions on the bottle state to 'Dispense 1-2 pumps on to fingertips and gently massage on to a cleansed face, neck and decolletage. Use morning and night.

I have been using it now for just under a week and there has been a noticeable difference in the appearance of my skin. It looks hydrated and my complexion is more even and less splotchy.  It is early days yet but I am positive about continuing with its use.
