Hourglass Modernist Eye-shadow Palette - OBSCURA

Hi,

Today is a look at one of my first only high end product. I own an Hourglass Modernist Eye Shadow Palette in Obscura. The only reason I own this is that every time my friend and I went into Mecca Cosmetica at High Point shopping centre I would inevitably end up at the Hourglass stand looking at this eye-shadow palette. So for Christmas, she put it under the tree for me.

These are swatches of the palette.
A photo of an application of the eye-shadow.

The eyeshadow is amazing quality, the shadows very pigmented and blendable and look fantastic in person. My photo of the shadows on my eyes doesn't quite convey this.

I endeavor to use the palette more and get more practice in, I will keep everyone posted.

Second Arbonne Workshop!

Hey,

So on the 17th of June, my Aunty took a turn at holding an Arbonne workshop. This was again held at my house, instead of a make-up workshop we did a Wrap party. This involved exfoliating our stomachs, being wrapped in bandages soaked in a detox formula and then waiting around for 40 mins, after which a jelly type formula was rubbed in. The idea was to detox the stomach and hopefully lose some centimeters off the stomach area.

I knew I wanted to buy more skin care, and figured I would use this party as an excuse as my Aunty benefited as host if I purchased from Arbonne. Unfortunately I purchased the wrong set, but I realise that it can work to my advantage as I can use this set to clear out all the horribleness hiding in my skin then use the hydrating set next.

I ordered the FC5 Complexion Perfecting Set $106
This includes;
Purifying Cleanser + Toner
Oil-Absorbing Day Lotion with SPF 15
Mattifying Powder

This set is pictured below..

I became a Preferred client in order to recieve a 20% discount on anything I purchased, along with this and items my Mum wanted, we qualified for a free product. We ended up with the Seasource Detox Spa - Sea mud Face & Body Mask.

Do you use anything from Arbonne?

What has your experience been like?

Review - Chi Chi Blending sponges!

Hey,
So today I figured I would review my Chi Chi Make up blending sponge complete collection. A purchase I will be making for a long time to come.

So a couple of years ago I picked up a Chi Chi blue blending sponge, used it for a while and then got rid of it because my family were all about the sea sponge experience. Plus I preferred at the time the flat sponges that you can buy a million of for cheap. Then a few months ago I saw this pack on special at Target and with my friends discount card I paid even less. Since then I have used the yellow - too death, the poor beauty was falling apart and started using the blue. With the Myers sales I grabbed myself another yellow, the flat bottom is the best for putting on foundation.

These blending sponges are more than worth the money the flawless application of foundation is on point. haha. On point - not a term I usually use but the application is astoundingly good.

Recently I have been trying out a foundation brush but found that you end up with a thicker application, and at times streaks. A complete contrast to the more natural flawless look from using one of these blending sponges.

Like me, if you cant justify spending ridiculous amounts on the 'beauty blender' then go down to Target and get yourself a Chi Chi Blending sponge. You will not regret the purchase!

Facebook Buy Swap and Sell purchases #5

Hi,

So I wanted to go through some of the items I have bought from Buy Swap and Sell Facebook groups. As I use products I will definitely find time to review them.

The lashes I picked up were relatively painless, but the next three items I picked up all on the same day and boy was it painful. Happy reading!

Model Rock Lashes in Demi Wispies 8 pairs for $15
I bought these lashes from a girl in Derrimut and apart from her not having any change for a 20, it was relatively painless. Have yet to try the lashes yet but hopefully they look amazing!

Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation $10
The girl I bought this Too Faced Powder Foundation from was a pain in the ass.
Let me tell you why, out of all the purchases I have made through a Facebook Buy, Swap and Sell groups this has to be the worst.
When I initially contacted the girl we agreed to meet at High Point Shopping Centre the following day. I was baby sitting my baby cousin and was going to pop up to High Point after. The shopping centre isn't far from my auntys so essentially I was already half way there. Then I start driving and she messages me saying she has an appointment she forgot about. This was fine as she agreed to another meet up. Mind you she still hasn't posted that the item was sold pending pick up so other people thought it was still available.. which was further aggravation. The day before we were meant to meet up I message her to find out if its still okay to meet up, she sends back 3 words.
I'm in Sydney.
So I'm fuming because, who just skips states and organises to meet up with someone. She then proceeds to block me from messaging her after I ask when she will be back so I can come get the product. I'm pisssed. I wake up the arvo that I was meant to pick it up and apparently shes back in Melbourne because shes posted more stuff that she needs to get rid of asap. I manage to talk to her on the original post and we meet up. I get the product and its well and truly bee used, to the point its hit pan in the middle. She didn't even give e the chance to check the item before she snatches the money and walks away. She didnt say a word.

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body $20
I bought this from a girl in Burnside, and I swear she was like 12. There was a lot of back and forth with the kid too. Unrealistic pick up times and locations until she finally must have taken a sick day so I picked it up after I picked up the Too Faced Powder Foundation.

Nyx Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator $5

The girl I bought this illuminator from was located in Geelong, so a good half hour drive. No, I did not drive half an hour for a $5 item, she also had a Mac foundation brush she was selling for $35 that my Mum wanted. She was another pain in the ass, she had been houding me for weeks about make up she was selling and then I decide I want to buy some and it has to be picked up asap. Load of bull hocky!
She also said she would drop it off and then changed her mind and it was a royal mess, mind you the whole time I was saying I will come and get it give me a time. She was also late and made me wait around for 30 minutes at the place she wanted to meet at. She also did a walk buy and handed me the items and walked off so yeah didn't get a lot of time to check the items. There is stuff all left in the illuminator so luckily I got it for half what her original price was and the brush was dirty.

Kmart $10 Bed spread!

Hey,

Today I wanted to talk about my bedding, I have recently had to go and buy a new bed spread. I like to have a couple of different sets as during winter it takes longer for a set or two to dry. A while back I realised that out of my four bed spread sets I had destroyed two with paint and PVA (hazards of doing Visual Arts at University).

Instead of going and spending a small fortune, I went and had a look in Kmart. They have a variety of options bedding wise and for all different price ranges. I ended up picking up a set that was priced at $10, it was a relatively easy decision as I can't necessarily put colours that don't work with the red of my walls. So a simple black with white triangles worked perfectly, now I will have to see if they have the opposite.

I was a little weary about the quality at first but once I put it on my bed I realised that in this case it was a bargain.

This is a little insight into my bedroom, how is yours decorated?

Facebook Buy Swap and Sell Purchases #4

Hey,

So in the space of a week and a half I purchased a few items, two of which are high end. As usual I paid well under retail, I would only pay retail if I was purchasing it from Mecca or Sephora.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette $60
I bought this from a lady in burnside.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer $20
I bought this from a kid in Deer Park.

Elf Flawless Concealer Brush
Australis Metallliz Eyeshadow in Pearl Jammin'

Swapped for a smashbow used brow product (was too lazy to fill in my brows). Traded with a girl from Werribee who I had previously bought jojoba oil from.

First Arbonne Workshop + Products finally arrived!

Hey,

So on the 27th of May I had an Arbonne workshop, where I invited my Aunty, Grandmother, Mum, Best friend and brothers girlfriend along to try out some products with me.  We tried out the skin care range and then the make up range. Unfortunately though there were a few issues with the ordering process, which put a bit of a dampener on the situation. Two weeks later though on the 14th of June, all the products that I ordered arrived. Being the host of the workshop I was able to get some specials and overall I ended up choosing to purchase 5 products, which are pictured below.

6 Piece brush Set

FC5 Hydrating Cleanser + Freshener

Makeup PrimerPerfecting Liquid Foundation in Soft Blush

Have you tried any Arbonne products? What did you think?

Friday Night Make-up!

Hey,

Thursday the 9th of June, I received my Kat Von D shade and light eye palette in the mail, that Friday I went out for dinner with my brother, his girlfriend and best friend. We went for dinner at the Sporting Globe then saw X-Men Apocalypse.  To honor the scenario I used my new palette to create an eye look... which sadly my phone didn't capture too well.

Was able to take some seriously good selfies though, which I have placed below.
